Southern-Fried Pork Chops
Ingredients:
6 center-cut pork chops, about ½ inches thick
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup flour
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. pepper
1 t. season-all
Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
Pour vegetable oil in bottom of medium skillet, coating entire pan. Heat oil over medium-high heat to 350 degrees. Pour buttermilk into a shallow dish. In another dish, mix flour, powder, pepper and season-all. Dip pork chops into the buttermilk, and then dredge chops in flour mix. Shake off any excess flour and place meat in heated skillet. Cook approximately 6-8 minutes, until browned on one side. Turn and cook additional 5-7 minutes, until cooked through. Serve with your favorite harvest helpings; recommended: scalloped cheese potatoes.
