Comfort & Joy Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 sticks butter
2 t. cinnamon
½ t. nutmeg
2 cups vanilla ice cream
rum
water
additional cinnamon & sugar for garnish

Instructions:

For the butter base:
Combine sugar, brown sugar and butter in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring until butter is melted, about 5 minutes. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the cooked mixture into the ice-cream, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat at medium speed, scraping the sides of the bowl, until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

To serve: fill one-quarter of a mug with butter base; add one ounce rum and three-quarters of a cup of boiling water. Sprinkle with cinnamon & nutmeg.
